For your holiday village booking, we require certain information about you. This also applies to other specific situations, such as information requests, managing price inquiries, and your visits to our websites. To facilitate this, we also work with third parties who receive and process certain personal data on behalf of Le Val d’Arimont. Examples include sending brochures and mailings or conducting our customer surveys.
Your first name, last name, and gender
To communicate with you at the holiday village and for other personal messages, we need your personal data. Naturally, this data is also essential for registering your booking.
Your full address
Most information regarding your booking will be sent to you by email. However, some data may also be sent to your personal home address.
Your phone number
We may need to contact you about your booking. We will call you if there are any outstanding questions, and we can also, for example, send you an SMS if your cottage becomes available earlier. Additionally, we might call you before your arrival or after your stay to ensure everything is clear or that you enjoyed your visit.
Your date of birth
The person booking accommodation at Le Val d’Arimont must be at least 18 years old. Additionally, the tourist tax may vary depending on the age of the guests. This is why we need your date of birth. If you or one of your travel companions celebrates a birthday during your stay, we will remember and may arrange some additional services for you.
Your bank details
For the payment of your booking, we use a secure payment environment. If you pay by iDeal or another bank transfer method, your data is saved in our administration to link the payment to your booking. Otherwise, we only use your bank account number if we need to refund you a certain amount. If you pay by credit card, we transmit your card data from our secure environment directly to our credit card payment partner. This partner processes the bank transaction. We do not have access to your bank card data during this process. Our partner only informs us if the payment was successful.
Your IP address
We may need to consult your IP address on the internet. We store your preferences to offer you tailored advice.
Your email address
You will receive emails regarding your booking, invoice, and any orders placed. Newsletters will also be sent to you by email. If you prefer not to receive newsletters or promotions, simply unsubscribe by clicking the link in the newsletter.
Customer Service
You can call us, send an email, and also contact us via social media. To avoid having you repeat your message, we save your data. To continuously improve our service, we analyze all interactions.
Partners
Your data is transmitted to organizations that perform activities related to your booking. This also includes partners who are not part of the Le Val d’Arimont organization. For example, the cleaning company or the insurance company if you have purchased travel or cancellation insurance.
Account
Your personal data can be saved in your account. This includes your name, postal and billing address, date of birth, phone number, and login details. We also store data about your previous bookings. This enables us to assist you more quickly and efficiently.
Newsletters
You can receive newsletters and other promotions from us. To target the content of these mailings, we consider your interests and previous bookings, and sometimes data from other companies. If you prefer not to receive newsletters or promotions, you can always unsubscribe by clicking the link in the newsletter. Alternatively, you can send us a letter to the following address: Le Val d’Arimont B.V.,
Chemin du Val 30, 4960 Malmedy or by email.
Reviews and Customer Surveys
Your feedback can help other customers. By sharing your experiences, you provide others with an even more accurate picture of Le Val d’Arimont or a specific holiday village. We also review your responses to our customer surveys to improve our service delivery. On occasion, we may share your responses and data with our holiday villages and partners, such as cleaning service providers. We may also contact you after a survey, for example, to ask additional questions or to thank you for your feedback.
Improvement
We sometimes contact you for a customer survey. Furthermore, we want to track the resolution of a complaint and understand your impressions of our newsletter. This is why we collect data on our customers’ behavior. For example, to analyze site usage and create content tailored to your desires. To do this, we record unique visits, along with all activities that occur during them, such as viewing pages, zooming in, or clicking on links. Sometimes these checks are performed by a third party on our behalf.
Promotions
If you have participated in a promotion, we may contact you to inform you if you have won. This data also helps us analyze our promotions, making them increasingly attractive.
Personalized Advice
When you visit our site, like us on Facebook, book with us, or stay at one of our holiday villages, we remember what you like. We conduct research to bring you great promotions, for example, by email. We can associate your email address with your internet browsing habits. For instance, we can send you a reminder if you haven’t fully completed your booking. Your data is also useful for improving our service delivery and our websites. Your data is also used to display relevant advertisements on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms. Cookies play a role in this, allowing us to match our promotions as closely as possible with your interests, and to compare or combine your information with data known from other companies. To the extent required by law, Le Val d’Arimont requests your authorization before transmitting your data to third parties.
Data Disclosure
Sometimes, we use customer data to investigate, prevent, or counteract fraud. In certain circumstances, we are obliged to transmit personal data to competent authorities. Under legal (international) sanctions, it may happen, under particular conditions, that we disclose your data to, for example, financial institutions.
Upon request, we will inform you if we are processing personal data concerning you. Furthermore, you can request, correct, complete, delete, or protect this data under well-defined circumstances, for example, if it contains incorrect elements. However, in this case, you may no longer be able to use (part of) our services.
If you have a complaint regarding the processing of your personal data, please contact the competent public authority (Data Protection Authority).
Retention Periods
We retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this document. However, under legal provisions, it may be necessary to retain your data for a longer period.
Principles
Legislation requires us to outline the principles underlying the processing of your personal data. These primarily involve data processing based on 1) a contract, 2) a legitimate interest of Le Val d’Arimont, 3) given authorization, and 4) a legal obligation.
We primarily use your data in connection with your booking, meaning based on a contract concluded with you. Your booking is registered, and we then do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Additional contacts, such as feedback, marketing activities, and the recording and analysis of your operations, are carried out in the legitimate interest of Le Val d’Arimont. You can also subscribe to a newsletter yourself, in which case you authorize us to use your data for this purpose. Furthermore, we are legally obliged to record your data in the night register.
To protect the personal data we process, we implement extensive security procedures, among other things, to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing this information.
